Gemcitabine injection inhibits the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase (RNR) and indicated in the treatment of following cancer treatments:
- In combination with carboplatin to treat advanced ovarian cancer that relapsed after 6 month of platinum based chemotherapy
- Along with paclitaxel for first-line treatment of metastatic breast cancer after failure of prior anthracycline-containing chemotherapy or patients that are clinically contraindicated to anthracyclines
- Combined with cisplatin for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer
- Pancreatic cancer treatment
