Gentamicin is indicated in the treatment of the following bacterial infections:
- Complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infection
- Acute pyelonephritis
- Complicated intra-abdominal infection
- Hospital-acquired pneumonia
- Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP)
- Pulmonary infections
- Endocarditis
- Gentamicin generally use in combination with beta-lactam antibiotic or with an antibiotic effective against anaerobic bacteria for susceptible infections
